Why Do You Need A Window Cleaner
Window cleaner has become an absolute necessity these days because every time you use your computer, every webpage you visit, every image and file - whether multimedia or a movie file - you see, are stored in it. This takes up a lot of disk space, which is quite valuable in terms of storage space. You probably use a number of software, as most do, and every software saves some information or the other. Through this information, all your activities can be tracked and traced, invading your privacy. Windows cleaner is a tool that helps remove all these traces, and much more to help run your computer better and faster.
What most computer users do not realize is that every single online activity of theirs can be easily tracked. Internet history files, cookies of the sites you visit, and your browser cache is a storehouse of all your online activities. Through these logs, your privacy can be trespassed. These files are not required, and must be deleted after you have finished using your computer. These unwanted files take up precious disk space and slow down your complete system. This is why you need a Window cleaner - to help clean up all these unwanted information.
What Will A Windows Cleaner Do
Window registry cleaner will free your computer of all stored information, which are not required, and which are a danger to your privacy. Different cleaners have different features, depending on what you require. Windows cleaner that merely deletes the files may have a limited benefit, as a variety of data recovery tools available can help recover the data. Certain Window cleaners have a feature that further shreds the deleted files and folders.
Though a Windows cleaner is an all-in-one cleaning tool, it comes with various features. All such cleaners are flexible tools that clean up the history of your activities, both online and offline, and restore hard disk space. Some cleaners come with features, such as secret bookmarks, stealth cleaning, and hide browsers, among many others. Certain other features include optimizers that clean all obsolete files and files that are pure junk. Certain features also find duplicate files and remove them.
A Window cleaner is a powerful tool and is quite reliable for removing all useless files, and de-fragmenting your computer, making it run faster than before, and completely error free. It is a user-friendly application, though some may not be able to restore deleted files. Depending upon the Window registry cleaner you have opted for, you can either clean all the traces of your activities manually, or fix up a regular schedule for cleaning.
Having a Window cleaner is no longer an option, but a must. To select the best cleaner to suit you, all you need is to go online. A plethora of online stores has a variety of cleaners to choose from.

Windows registry is important file system you cannot ignore to let it unmanaged. The poorly performing system, every time it has to go through the start up check option of those files which are never to be used. You need a cleaner registry to stop this nuisance being repeated over and over. So regularly scan the system for registry errors and fix these errors with registry fix program.
Often you uninstall a program and you are some times prompted like "These are certain no longer in use; however some programs may need it. Would you like to delete. If you are not certain leave them." This uninstall creates a broken tree in windows registry path. The system every time goes through this path to a result less event, which consumes the time.
In the windows registry database the embedded null registry keys do pose the very threat being an important source to the exploitation. These, some times referred, as registry errors are the prime target as to generate a permanent residence for viruses and Spyware, a sure add-up to the mal function of the system. More over the interference of the shared resources created at time installation have some times the unexpected event calls. The cleaner registry the more proper the system works.
Windows registry errors also lead to the frequent crash of the programs. Things You Should Know Before You Download Free Registry Cleaner
Before you download free registry cleaner, understand what a registry cleaner is, types of registry cleaner and how often to use it.
You would be tempted to see the offers for download free registry cleaner. Attractive it is. However, before you download free registry cleaner, understand what a registry cleaner is and how you should use one.
The registry is the heart of your computer. This is where your system stores all the information about your computer - what your software and hardware settings are, and everything about the system configuration. The Windows uses this information to operate. With time, as and when you install and uninstall new software and other components, the older, unnecessary, and incorrect records keep on accumulating in the registry thereby slowing down the system speed. A Window registry cleaner removes all these extra records, trimming down your registry, and speeding up the complete system.
In addition to old records that are not required, the registry is also a home to a plethora of viruses, Spyware, keyloggers, Trojan, and the like that manipulate the whole system, leading to system errors and much more.
Using a Window Registry Cleaner
The most important and critical element to any operating system from Microsoft is its registry, and you require a certain level of knowledge to use a registry cleaner. This is what you should know:
The frequency with which you should use your registry cleaner depends on the frequency of your changes in the system. You would not face much of a problem with your newly installed computer. If you frequently install and uninstall your software, you need to clean your registry frequently. It depends on how often you install and uninstall photo and graphics software, games, drivers, anti-virus, and anti-spyware software, among other installations.
Do you install components while browsing on the net? Do you often change the system configuration? Do you often change your hardware, printer, your monitor, and the like? Depending on these changes, you need to use your registry cleaner daily, weekly, monthly, or less frequently.
One registry cleaner does not necessarily clean the same way as the next one. A cleaner that finds more problems is not necessarily the better one. Certain cleaners, if they are not sure about the registry record, try to find out if it is important, instead of just deleting it. This results in a better computer performance.
Certain cleaners may search deep and show more problem records. There is every chance that the good records may get thrown out with the bad ones. This is the reason why you need to install a full version of the registry cleaner from a reputed vendor.
A registry cleaner does a great job of removing incorrect and useless data from the registry, and enhances the performance of your computer.
Now that you have all the required information about the role and advantages of Window registry cleaner, you can go ahead and download free registry cleaner for your computer. PC Mantra offers free download of registry cleaner for a trial version and offers a full version with added features and functionality.

Symantec Releases Norton 360 2.0 to Beta Testing
Version 2.0 of Symantec's Norton 360 security suite is now entering beta testing. This version will gain several security enhancements introduced with Norton Internet Security 2008 such as Norton Identity Safe, Browser Protection (called Browser Defender in NIS 2008), and home network management. Its backup and tuneup features will also be enhanced.
According to Jeff Kyle, group product manager for Norton 360, about a third of Norton 360 users are technically skilled. That's somewhat surprising, since this product is targeted at the less-technical user. The same survey showed that half of all Norton 360 users have a home network and that over a quarter take advantage of the online backup option.
Kyle stated that Norton 360 is not a suite of disparate products but rather a single integrated product that offers a variety of security features. The underlying security technology is the same as that of NIS 2008, but with an emphasis on ease of use. Usability enhancements in version 2.0 includes handy popup menus for common tasks, streamlined access to settings for advanced users, and a direct link to send feedback about the program.
The Smart Background Scheduler now avoids launching tasks when the computer is running on batteries. It kicks in after the computer has been idle for a while and throttles bandwidth as necessary to minimize impact on performance. In addition, the product is more tightly integrated with Windows.
The backup system can store backed-up data on various local and network-based devices as well as in a 2GB online storage area. For an additional $20 per year, users can add an extra 8GB of online backup; this compares favorably with Windows Live OneCare's $50 per year for 10GB of photo-specific online backup. New in version 2, Norton 360 can backup to an iPod or Blu-Ray disc and backup multiple PCs to a single network-based drive. Version 2 also offers better searching for files to be restored along with a preview feature to help identify the desired file. An overlay on file icons quickly shows whether a file is included or excluded from backup, and whether it has changed since the last backup. The user can right-click a file to quickly include or exclude it from backup.
In version 2.0, Norton 360's tuneup feature will include a Registry cleaner and full support for cleaning up unnecessary browser files in Firefox. It can optionally shut down the computer on completion of its cleanup tasks, and will generate a diagnostic report for troubleshooting purposes.
According to Kyle, Symantec is also working on the second-string features found in the Add-On Pack. They'll be looking to improve antispam accuracy and enhance the parental control features. However, these changes won't be included in the beta test. Symantec expects to release the final product in the first quarter of 2008.

Can you defrag your registry?
Auslogics, publisher of the popular Auslogics Disk Defrag, also makes another defragger: Registry Defrag. Does it actually work? Is it all smoke and mirrors, or does using this free program result in faster clock times?
The empirical, Friday afternoon answer is: it's hard to tell. If that sounds familiar to those of you who've used other registry cleaners and their siblings, it should. It's hard to gauge if these programs are effective because once you're done using it, you'd need more than a mere store-bought machine with store-loaded programs to judge CPU speed by.
Regardless of its effectiveness, the Auslogics Registry Defrag looks and functions much like the Auslogics Disk Defrag. When you run it, it tells you that it will perform a registry analysis, after which you will be able to review its registry report, and once that's done with you can run the registry optimization, requiring a reboot to defrag and compact the registry.
It's a fairly serious program, and once you begin the analysis it won't let you move the mouse outside the program window. It also "strongly recommends" that users close all other programs while it runs, although this is a standard warning for registry cleaning apps.
After having run the program on my main work machine, a Windows XP box that sees an average of four to six programs installed and then uninstalled per day, not to mention having an average of two dozen Firefox tabs open, a registry sweeper should make the computer run faster. Even though I run disk defraggers a couple of times a week and keep a vigilant watch on resources, I expected an empirical yet noticeable change in CPU speed.
That never materialized. Resource-intensive programs like Internet browsers and e-mail clients may be piggish, but they're necessary. They didn't load any faster or slower than normal after running the reg defrag. It may be that I'll only notice after a few days or so, but until a registry defragger or cleaner can demonstrate benchmarkable improvements to a computer, they'll be little more than 21st century snake oil.
